INVESTING IN YOUR FREEDOM:

TRANSPARENT PRICING & FINANCIAL OPTIONS

Our Billing Philosophy

Setra Law Firm charges a flat fee based on case complexity and required resources, not hours spent. This approach eliminates surprise bills and hourly charges for calls, focusing your payment on our expertise and results.

Flat Fee Structure

We assess your case thoroughly to set a single transparent fee. No hidden costs or incremental charges—just a clear price that covers our strategic defense from start to finish.

No Hidden Costs

You won’t face unexpected fees or minute-by-minute billing. Our flat fee covers all essential work, ensuring you know exactly what your defense costs upfront.

Results Over Hours

Unlike traditional firms that bill by the hour, we prioritize winning your case as quickly as possible. Our fees reflect the value of our strategy and aggression, not the time spent.

Tiered Defense Pricing: Clear, Stage-Based Fees

Our fee structure breaks down your defense into manageable phases, ensuring you only pay for the services your case requires at each step.

Common Questions About Legal Fees.

  • Why is a "Staged" Flat Fee better than an hourly rate?

It provides financial certainty and aligns our goals.

With hourly billing, you are penalized every time you call your lawyer. With a Staged Flat Fee, you know exactly what your defense costs.

The Benefit: Our incentive is to work as hard as possible to win your case in Stage 1 (Pre-Indictment) or Stage 2 (Pre-Trial). If we secure a dismissal early, you never have to pay the Trial Fee. We bill for the result and the resources deployed, not the minutes on the clock.

  • How does your Flat-Rate pricing structure work?

We utilize a "Stage-Based" Flat Fee model.

We do not believe you should pay for a trial if we can get your case dismissed before it ever gets there. Our fees are broken down into specific stages of the defense lifecycle. You only pay for the stage your case reaches.

    Stage 1 - Pre-Indictment / Pre-File

The investigation phase. We fight to kill the case at the Grand Jury level.'

    Stage 2 - Case Filed (Pre-Trial)

If charges are filed, this covers discovery audits, motion practice, and court appearances.

    Stage 3 -Jury Trial

If the government refuses to dismiss, we prepare for verdict. This fee applies only if we proceed to trial.

Stage 4- Post-Trial / Appellate: Handling legal errors, appeals, or expunctions after the verdict.

  • What happens if my case is dismissed in the "Pre-File" stage?

    Then your investment stops there.

If our Pre-Indictment Strategy is successful and we secure a "No-Bill" (Rejection of charges) from the Grand Jury, the legal battle ends. You do not pay the "Case Filed" or "Trial" fees. This model rewards aggressive early intervention.

  • Do you offer payment plans for these stages?

     Yes.

We understand that a Federal Indictment or Felony charge is a financial shock. Because our fees are staged, you are not required to pay the full trial fee on Day 1. Additionally, we partner with secure Third-Party Legal Financing providers to help cover the retainer for the current stage, allowing you to pay over time while we begin your defense immediately.

  • How much does a Criminal Defense Lawyer cost in San Antonio?

Legal fees vary based on the complexity of the charge (Misdemeanor vs. Felony). Setra Law Firm offers Flat-Fee Pricing so you know exactly what your defense costs upfront, with no surprise hourly bills.

  • Do you require a full retainer upfront?

While retainers are standard, our financing options allow many clients to start their defense with a manageable initial payment or a financed plan.

  • Does the Flat Fee cover expenses like Expert Witnesses or Court Costs?

No. The Flat Fee covers our legal labor, strategy, and court appearances.

To maintain transparency, we separate our attorney fees from third-party expenses. You are not charged for resources your specific case does not require.

Attorney Fees (The Flat Fee) -Pays for the Setra Law Team, our time, our legal writing, and our advocacy in court.

Case Expenses (Client Responsibility) - Third-party costs necessary for your defense or mandated by the State. These include:

Expert Witnesses like Forensic toxicologists (for blood/breath), digital forensic experts, or psychologists.

Private Investigators for locating and interviewing witnesses or serving subpoenas.

Court & State Costs such as fines, court costs, probation supervision fees, or interlock/monitor device fees paid directly to the county/vendor.

  • Will I be surprised by these expenses?

Never. We do not spend your money without a strategy. If we believe your case requires a Forensic Expert to challenge a blood result or a Private Investigator to track down a witness, we discuss the cost and the strategic value with you first. You approve the expense before it is incurred. These costs are billed directly to you or paid out separately.
